It can sometimes be a challenge to stage a charitable event at your restaurant and even more difficult to find companies who will donate their products to support your cause. Follow these few, simple and easy tips to help bring those products right to your charitable doorstep.
1. Find A Relevant and Popular Cause – Check around in your community, and do your research to find out which charity, among the many options, appeal more to people in your area, or have the most number of followers and concentrate your efforts on that particular cause. Chances are, when the cause is something that appeals to people in your community, you will be able to better relate to their interests and emotions and move them to support your charitable event.
2. Be Creative With Your Advertisement – When you need to advertise, do so with flare and creativity so it attracts people to join you in your cause. Make sure that when you announce your charitable event it is full of excitement and appeal, and also provides an opportunity for the company you’re approaching to get some exposure. This will positively influence the companies you’re approaching so they accept your invitation to join and donate their products.
3. Make The Obvious Obvious – Make sure that the charitable event that you are organizing has very clear objectives so the people you intend to invite to support your cause will not be misled. Be very clear in your communication with them, especially regarding what you expect them to support you with. Make clear objectives and communicate them to your invitees.
4. Find A Credible Endorser – Find someone who believes in the cause you’re active with and get them to endorse you and the event. A credible endorser sometimes help spread with word of your event, which is a win-win for all involved. A credible endorser sometimes can also give confidence to the companies donating.
5. Use the Charities Resources – The charities themselves can sometimes help with locations, marketing material, public relations, advice on companies to approach, and also provide recommendations for endorsers. Make sure you look into what resources they are able to help you with and above all, have fun!
